Directorate for European Integration and Project Management performs tasks relating to: providing technical support to the defence system in the process of European integration; manage projects of organizational unit of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Army provided for financing from the European Union and international development assistance and other standards, formats and requirements of international organization of states - donors; drafting analysis of labor bodies of the European Union from the jurisdiction and for the Ministry of Defence; giving attitudes and opinions on the representatives of the Ministry of Defence activities in the process of accession of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union; cooperation and information relevant structures of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army on planned and conducted activities in terms of planning, programming and implementation of projects; monitoring of regulations of the negotiating chapters; active participation in all activities relating to European integration from the jurisdiction the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Army; cooperation with the members of the negotiating group at the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army and the representatives of relevant national and international institutions responsible for the accession of Republic of Serbia to the European Union; notification and informing all relevant structures of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Army of fulfilled planned activities and tasks related to the field of project management and the area of European integration; other tasks related to the process of integration of Republic of Serbia into the European Union from the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defence.

 

Directorate for European Integration and Project Management has defined guidelines for further work in order to establish functional structure and greater contribution to project support of organizational structures of the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces.
In this way, the Directorate will ensure functional, conceptual framework and activity plan for performing regular tasks within its competences, through realization of activities which will be considered, planned and realized in both shorter or longer period of time.

Seminar on civilian capacities in multilateral missions

Officials of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, led by colonel Dr. Katarina Strbac, director of the Directorate of European Integration and Project Management of the Defence Policy Sector, attended the two-day seminar on civilian capacities in multilateral missions, which is a part of the project “Development of National Capacities of Serbia for Participation of Civilians in Peace- Support Missions”.

“Implications of Climate Change and Disasters on Military activities – Building Resiliency and Mitigating Vulnerability in the Balkan Region”

Director of the Directorate of European Integration and Project Management, Colonel Dr. Katarina Strbac, as part of a five-member working group of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, attended the advanced research workshop “Implications of Climate Change and Disasters on Military activities – Building Resiliency and Mitigating Vulnerability in the Balkan Region”. The workshop was held in the period from 4 to 8 July 2016 in the Republic of Bulgaria and supported by the NATO Science for Peace and Security Program.

In organization of the Directorate for European Integration and Project Management, Mr. Kurt Refsgard, a representative of the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Denmark, visited the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in the period from 28 to 30 June 2016, with a view to continue project cooperation of two national defence sectors.
